Brembo Brake. Random lock up on drivers side

I washed the car 2 nights ago dried it off and backed it in my shop and let it set for roughly 8-10 hours before it was moved again. The combination of high humidity and heat in my garage cause some of the normal break rust that is pretty common for me to see. This time however the driver side front seized itself so hard that when you tried to drive out of my garage the cars rear end would just drift right. A buddy of mine is a tech at a ford dealer and I called him over to have a look. He let some brake fluid out to take the pressure off and checked to see if a piston was seized up but everything was fine. Our last resort was just to drop it in neutral and rock the car back and fourth. When we did that the caliper broke free and when we did it showed a massive fairly thick surface rust spot. Checked the brakes right after then drove it 10 miles down the road. The car never put up a code for the brakes and everything was perfect once it broke free. Anybody else ever had this issue?

Not only avoid setting the parking brake, like Eric said, but don't use brakes to a full-stop and then leave the car just after washing. Try to roll to a stop (if flat surface and put it in gear/turn off motor.

The parking brake will have no effect on the front brakes. Best thing to do when the rotors are wet is to blow dry them, leaf blower or shop air, and do as Evil and Goose suggest.

My Carrera was far-worse about fusing to the rotors overnight than my Shelby ever was.

In any event, I've never found it to create any type of permanent problem or damage. I just do the same as Hardage, pop the clutch, bust it loose, and head out the driveway!

Then I usually try to get up to a good speed and give the brakes several good loads to clean the rotors off with.

I might add to drive your newly washed ride for at least a minimum of a mile and ride the brakes to warm and dry them before stowing.
